Me and my parter stayed for a few nights over New Years Eve, taking our dog with us. The house is absolutely beautiful, it had everything we could possibly need - including some treats for the pooch too! The area itself is lovely, although lots of it was closed for the New year we were table to find a lovely dog friendly pub and enjoy walks on the beach. The house was immaculate, we have already booked to return and will definitely be recommending to friends and family. Thank you to The Elderton Team for making our stay so wonderful!

The Elderton is a spacious and well equipped 3 bedroom house located in a quiet street only a few minutes from the beach. The house would suit a family or a couple and dogs are welcome. We were very impressed with the layout and comfort and with the well equipped kitchen. At the end of the road the Artisan cafe is a treasure with a great menu for snacks or lunch. For evening meals both the Italian and the Indian restaurants have good menus and are good value. Local pubs are comfortable and welcoming and the Chinese takeaway delivers quickly. Further afield Alnwick is worth a visit with the Harry Potter. Ashley and also Bartle Books a great large bookshop and cafe. Then there’s Seahouses for boat trips to the Farne Islands, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island. We had a great week and would recommend it to everyone

5/5. A good location, close to the sea. Exceptionally clean property throughout. Plenty space for us with 3 teenage boys. Well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and lovely bathroom. Great communication with the owner.

9.0/10. BEAUTIFUL HOME IN AN GREAT LOCATION- 5 MINUTE WALK TO LOCAL SHOPS AND BEACH. THE HOUSE IS MUCH BIGGER THAN IT SEEMS ON THE IMAGES AND THE HOST IS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. LOVELY LITTLE TOUCHES THROUGHOUT EVAN A WELCOME PACKS FOR THE DOG.

5/5 We stayed for 2 weeks in August. It is a lovely property near the shops, pubs and cafes. The owner Sarah was very helpful and responsive to our requests during our stay. We would definitely stay again in the future.

10/10. Our whole experience of staying at The Elderton was exceptional. It was very easy to communicate with our host before our stay and any request was dealt with extremely quickly and in a very friendly manner, we felt that Sarah went out of her way to accommodate us. We were a mixed group of adults, staying in Newbiggin for a wedding. The house was ideally situated for the church and the reception, restaurants, shops and the beach. Everything we could have wanted was provided for our stay and clearly communicated to us beforehand which was very helpful. It was a particular delight for me to find cupboard space in the kitchen for our provisions, so often I find that cupboards are crammed full of unnecessary stuff and there is nowhere for us to store our food. The house is decorated and fitted out to an excellent standard. The electronic key safe was very useful for our group who were coming and going at different times. It was also easy to use. Parking was straight forward for our car driver and buses to Morpeth station run from the bottom of the road making travel easy for train travellers.

9/10. Lovely end terrace which is larger than it looks. Well equipped, comfortable beds , dishwasher washing machine iron . Clean towels and tea coffee sugar salt and welcoming pack included. Clean towels supplied too. Walking distance to the sea and village approximately 5 minutes away. Great communication from the owners. Couldn’t fault it

9/10. At the end of a quiet terraced street, within easy walking distance of the seafront, high street and pubs/restaurants etc. Really comfortable, spacious and well furnished house. Very dog friendly, with large enclosed backyard (but no garden) and grass areas nearby. Newbiggin has a nice beach, it's not a tourist town, but has most day to day things you need and has good road connections to most of the tourist/history sites. Northumberland is a stunning county, which is why I keep coming back. Nearby Ashington has supermarkets, swimming pool etc. The whole area has a real community feel and is obviously proud of its mining heritage. It is very interesting, incredibly clean and tidy, has been really well landscaped and has a lovely calm feel to it. People are polite and friendly, but not overbearing. The place really grew on me as the week went on.

5⭐️ We had a comfortable stay in Sarah's modern, well equipped house. On a quiet street but only 5 minutes walk from the sea front and the shops and cafes.

5/5. I booked this place for my parents, they were in need of a relaxing break - it’s exactly what they got! Initial booking enquiry was handled promptly and they provided lots of tips and guidance on the local area and things to do… go to the local Indian Restaurant, it’s easily one of the best they’ve been to. Property was well located, clean, tidy and ready to go straight away. Parking was easy, as was getting out and about in the local community. Definitely one that will be booked again by our family.

10/10. We loved this property. It was finished to a very good standard. Immaculate throughout and no clutter which I loved. I also like the fact that there wasn’t anyone’s leftover sauces, jams etc, which you see so often. I could not have been happier with the Elderton and the host Sarah, who would have moved heaven and earth for you if it called for it. Would highly recommend!

5/5. The Elderton is a well located 3 bedroom holiday let which is minutes from the sea and the local amenities. The property is well kept and clean throughout, a spacious property which would suit families including families with small children.and couples who are looking for a short break in Northumberland as the property would make a good base or why not relax. Spacious rooms and large bathroom with bath and shower. This property is highly recommended. Also excellent Indian restaurant the Shaj, also pop into the Queens head for a drink in lovely surroundings.

5⭐️. What a lovely house. Recently refurbished with lots of thoughtful touches such as a “things you might have forgotten” basket in the bathroom. The location was great for us; near local shops, pubs and the beach. Sarah was really helpful and responsive both before and during our stay. The house has all you would need; towels, beach towels, games, plenty of crockery etc and a little yard to sit in, in nice weather. We have family in the area and would definitely come back and stay again.

5/5. We had a lovely stay at The Elderton which is literally a couple of minutes walk to a lovely beach. There are plenty of shops, pubs, cafes and takeaway places nearby too. The hosts of the Elderton have really thought about what guests may need and the attention to detail was a real surprise! The house is really spacious and has everything you need to enjoy a welcoming and relaxed stay. Sarah is really helpful and kept in touch to make sure we had all the information ahead of, and during our stay. Definitely recommend The Elderton and hope to return soon to explore more of the Northumberland coastline.

It was a lovely house in a great location and was a perfect base for exploring the local area, which was spectacular! I had a few questions and requests of the owner who was very responsive and helpful. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

5⭐️. We had a wonderful long weekend in Sarah’s Property, the decor of the house is beautiful & it’s spotlessly clean. The house is walking distance from shops, amenities, and a beautiful beach. Sarah was an amazing host, nothing was too much trouble & she was always responsive. We were given a very helpful guide of the property, local things to do and see, and great places to eat. We loved our stay at Elderton & we will definitely be back!

5⭐️. Such a great property in a perfect location. The house was newly refurbished, spotless and really well equipped for a family of 5 - 3 young children and a dog. We played board games (provided), watched films, walked on the deserted beach which is just a few min away. The kids loved the attention to detail in their bedrooms, like the pictures and the snuggly extra blankets on the beds. The kitchen had everything we needed to make home cooked meals, and we enjoyed a lovely coffee and cake at the nearby Artisan Cafe, as recommended by Sarah. The house was in a great location and easy to find from the A1. We enjoyed a great day in Warkworth, a trip to Alnwick, lots of local walks and a delicious meal at the Blackbird Inn in Ponteland. We will definitely be back and would absolutely recommend The Elderton for a great place to stay in Newbiggin.
